About Ru

Iā€™m Ru, and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist. I believe psychotherapy is a powerful modality, which can assist people to work through distressing events and experiences, but also can be utilised as a tool for self-actualisation and insight. I create space to allow a person to explore their own mind, to be able to better understand how they wish to show up in the world.

In my practice, I draw on attachment and developmental perspectives, as well as systems and psychodynamic theories. My approach is heavily guided by trauma-informed and somatic principles, as I believe that our bodies provide valuable insights into our inner experiences.

As well, I work as a Sex & Consent Educator. This work can bring another dimension to the therapeutic work, with the capacity to explore sexuality and sexual issues. I also have various experience in work with people who are LGBTIQA+ identifying, including those who fall outside gender binaries.

Some focus areas:

  • depression & anxiety

  • life transitions

  • dysregulation & somatic disturbances

  • identity & sexuality

  • relational & relationship difficulties

  • ongoing difficulties due to trauma or stress

  • attachment & developmental issues

  • understanding diagnoses & working with them

  • structural & systematic impacts on our sense of self
